Vacaville firefighters (from left) Captain Greg Chaloner, engineer Mindy Simpson and firefighter/paramedic, Michael Donnelly prepare to exit the roof of a house in the 200 block of Plantation Way as flames vent through a hole they cut during an attack on a two-alarm structure fire Friday at the home.
According to Acting Battalion Chief Jeramy Langwell, crews were dispatched at 4:45 p.m. to a report of a fire in the home. Upon arrival, crews found the garage fully involved and spreading to the attic at which point a second alarm was activated bringing mutual aid from the Dixon Fire Department, Vacaville Fire Protection District and the Fairfield Fire Department. All the residents were out of the home.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
